塘冲村位于小江镇西北部，离小江镇约16千米，海拔580米，总面积25.75平方千米，下辖11个村民小组。全村耕地共7463.4亩，水田1414亩，旱地1514亩。[1]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，原生产大队部设在塘冲，即今大围村所在地，村名因此而来。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

2014年统计，全村共500户、2108人。农民年人均收入8135元，村集体收入12.4万元，农村社会收入合计2482.23万元。收入主要来自种养业和劳务输出；养猪、养鸡是基础产业。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，塘冲村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村的建制几经变动：1940年设保，1952年改设乡政府，1958年改为生产大队，1983年又设乡政府，1987年改为村委会，1989年改为管理区，1999年再改为村委会，沿用至今。[2]
