村名的来历是：村委会设在山脚下的一片平坪上，因而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建制变化与杜步镇其他村相同：1940年设保，1952年改为乡政府，1958年10月改为生产大队，1983年11月复为乡政府，1987年1月改为村委会，1989年11月改为管理区，1999年3月重回村委会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2013年底，全村共550户，总人口2669人，劳动力1120人。[1]

经济[edit]

耕地共2584亩，水田340亩、旱地2244亩（博雅地名网，年份未注）。村民收入以种养和外出务工为主，2013年农民年人均纯收入5819元，村集体经济收入7660元。[1]
