沙坑村位于石角镇，村名取自村前村后的一道沙坑。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，传说元朝末年，祖先便在此定居。村子地处丘陵，四面环山，早年山水长期冲刷，水土大量流失，村前村后冲出了一条沙坑，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年建乡政府，村以沙坑为名。1958年为大队，1980年和虎山村分开，1983年复设乡，1987年转为村委会，1989年底成为管理区，1999年又恢复村委会。[1]
