金沙社区位于龙塘镇西北部，距镇政府约2.5千米，北面隔大燕河与横荷街道相望，东面与石岭社区相邻，西面与泗合村相连。社区属依山傍水的丘陵地区。[1]

地理与耕地[edit]

社区总面积约4平方千米，耕地约4500亩，其中水田2300亩，另有鱼塘600亩，可利用的山地1600多亩（数字未注年份）。[1]

人口与生产[edit]

社区下辖10个村民小组，总户数756户，户籍人口3276人，外来人口1345人。居民以种植水稻和蔬菜瓜果为主，饲养能繁母猪、乌宗鹅和三黄鸡；剩余劳力多经商或外出务工。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，金沙社区上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予金沙社区「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
