平南村是阳春市合水镇下辖的行政村，村内的聚落可追溯至明代。1951年设立平南大队，经阳春市人民政府批准，于1999年3月4日设立平南村委会，此名延用至今。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明天顺年间（1457年—1464年），黎姓人在此建塘潮村。万历年间（1573年—1620年），村民在锡坑的上坳头另建村落。解放前和解放初期，此地属平坦乡管辖，1951年设立平南大队。1983年设乡政府，1986年起称村委会，其后于1989年改为管理区。经阳春市人民政府批准，于1999年3月4日设立平南村委会，此名延用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

2020年8月，平南村入选广东省农业农村厅公布的首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，所列产业为澳洲坚果。[1]

文化[edit]

该村于2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
