高新村属阳西县塘口镇，是镇内的行政村之一。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村委会由高新、罗新两个生产大队合并组成，村名因此而来。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年10月起隶属阳江县六区，同年11月设高新行政村。1953年属十五区，设高新乡；1956年归塘口区，1958年5月入塘口乡，同年11月进入大跃进人民公社。1959年成立高新生产大队，同年10月划归塘口人民公社。[2]

1967年改为高新革命委员会，1980年又改为生产大队管委会，1983年再设高新乡。1987年2月改为村委会，1988年归阳西县塘口镇。1989年9月改为管理区，1999年9月恢复村委会。[2]

2021年12月，高新村委会下的会口坰村、会子冲村被评为「2021年度阳江市卫生村」。2019年9月，本村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
