中西村位于阳西县程村镇，与中北村同由黄什村委会分出，因处于西边而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年10月此地属阳江县六区，同年11月设中西行政村。1953年改隶阳江县十二区，1956年划入程村区，1958年5月隶属程村乡。1958年11月并入大跃进人民公社，同年12月转归织篢人民公社。[2]

1959年起设中西生产大队，10月起改归程村人民公社，1967年起设中西革命委员会，1980年改称生产大队管委会。1983年春设中西乡，1987年改为村委会，1989年9月设中西管理区，1999年9月复设中西村委会。[2]

文化[edit]

2021年12月，三角岭村被定为2021年度「阳江市卫生村」；2023年10月，大湴垌村获得同一荣誉。2022年1月，中西村被广东省乡村振兴局列入乡村治理示范村创建名单（2021年度）。2019年9月，中西村列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
