平南村位于阳西县织篢镇，村委会驻地地势平广，村名由此而来。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村委会驻地较为平坦开阔，又位于村的东南方，故名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

平南1949年属阳江县第六区，1953年属第十三区织篢乡。1956年划入织篢区，1958年5月仍为织篢乡，当年年底编入织篢人民公社。1959年村子成了平南生产大队，1983年重设乡级建制，称平南乡，1986年改设村委会，1988年属阳西县织篢镇，1989年设管理区，1999年复设村委会。[2]

产业与荣誉[edit]

据博雅地名网，村内的平南瘦肉型良种猪场占地百余亩，建有母猪产房与猪栏，年存栏量约5000头。[3]

高原村与旱田村获「2021年度阳江市卫生村」称号，评定于2021年12月。2026年1月，村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
