历史沿革[edit]

旧时新丰县陆路不便，去河源或连平须走水路，而新丰到河源源城、连平都要经过此地，此处恰在水路的中间，村名由此而来。[3]

1958年，此地为半江大队；1983年改称半江乡；1987年成为半江管理区。1999年，半江村委会经东源县政府批准设立，名称沿用至今。[2]

2024年3月，半江村获「2023年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
