吉布村隶属东源县叶潭镇，是镇下辖的一个行政村。村名的缘由是村内地势平坦，望去如同铺开的布匹。[1]

2019年10月，本村列入「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年改称吉布大队，1983年设吉布乡，1987年改为吉布管理区。1999年，东源县政府同意设立吉布村委会，此名延续至今。[1]
