双坪村隶属东源县叶潭镇，是镇下辖的一个行政村。村名取自村址地势平缓、少有起伏之意。[1]

2024年3月，村庄获评「2023年广东省卫生村」；2019年9月，又进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位的名录。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年为双坪大队，1983年改设双坪乡，1987年改为双坪管理区。1999年，东源县政府同意设立双坪村委会，此名延续至今。[1]
