牛背脊村是蓝口镇辖下的行政村，博雅地名网记作牛背村。村中一处地势中间略高、两边略低，形如牛背脊，村名由此而来。[1]

2019年10月，牛背脊村入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。2019年9月，村庄入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年为牛背脊大队，1983年改设牛背脊乡，1987年改为牛背脊管理区，1999年经县政府批准改设牛背脊村委会。[1]
