榄子围村是蓝口镇辖下的行政村。相传村址原为一处草坪岗，岗上有一棵榄树，高约十六米，树围六米，枝叶覆地约一亩，村民便在树旁建围屋成村，村名由此而来。[1]
2026年1月，榄子围村获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。2024年3月，村庄被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。2019年9月，村庄入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年为新民大队，1983年改设新民乡，1987年改为新民管理区，1994年改为榄子围村委会，1999年经县政府批准改设村委会。[1]
著名人物[edit]
张维湘（1926年至1948年）是榄子围人，1947年参加游击斗争，1948年11月在东江边的一次伏击中牺牲。[2]
