船塘村位于东源县船塘镇，村名与镇名相同。村子周围群山环绕，地形像一条船，附近原有的一口水塘形状也像船，村名由此而来[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村子先为高塅大队（1958年），后改为船塘乡（1983年）、船塘管理区（1987年）。1999年，东源县政府同意成立船塘村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。

文化[edit]

2019年9月，船塘村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单[1]。2024年3月，该村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」[1]。
