谷前村是铁场镇下辖的行政村，2026年公告的国土空间规划将其列为中心村，村名来自一段改名的旧事。[1][2]

名称来历[edit]

相传元明年间，一位姓郭的人在朝廷任职，回乡建屋，此地因而称“郭前围”。后来家道中落，他听从风水先生的建议，改名为“谷前”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年设横坑乡，乡址在谷前；1958年设谷前大队，罗坳并入其中；1962年与罗坳分开，1964年再度合并，1975年又分开。1983年设谷前乡，1986年改为村委会，1989年改管理区，1999年重设村委会，沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年3月，村被评为2023年度广东省卫生村。[1]
