星光村是义都镇下辖的行政村，新中国成立前叫半径村，后来改名星光。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子原称半径村，早先隶属莲塘乡（博雅地名网亦写作莲圹乡），后划归义都乡，设星光大队并得此名。博雅地名网的“地名由来”一栏记为1962年，“历史沿革”一栏记为1958年，两处年份不一致。[1]

1983年，义都区公所下设星光乡；之后的建制依次为村委会（1987年）和星光管理区（1989年），1999年村委会重新设立，一直用到现在。[1]

荣誉[edit]

星光村名列2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，名单于2019年9月公布。[1]
