北坑是古地名。明隆庆三年（1569年）永安置县，已有北坑村，归琴江都贺岗社，是该社所辖六村之一。[1] 2026年1月，北坑村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代归贺岗约管。1958年有北坑大队，但1963年3月并进了上石大队。1987年4月撤区建镇时重新设村委会，1989年底成为管理区，1999年起自设村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

北坑村是2018年底县里的新农村示范村，当时已有生活污水处理设施，并在建河堤、卫生站和公厕。[2] 村里共219户，其中143户的外墙或旧屋需要修缮，2018年8月至10月用三个月做完；2018年6月前，全村六成以上房屋的外立面还没装修。[3]

文化[edit]

村里把婚丧嫁娶俭办写入村规民约：嫁娶不请客，用茶水、糖块、瓜子代酒，建房、乔迁、参军等一律不收礼。此前一场丧事至少花费八九千元、一场喜事两三万元。村里还建有碧道和红星广场。[4]
