乐平村旧称乐平围：村四周是水塘，只有一道吊桥通往里面，里面地势平坦，因此得名。[1] 该村两度进入省级名单：2019年9月是「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，2023年5月又获省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

《永安县志》记有「乡人各为寨，亦曰围」，乐平围的叫法与此有关。永安置县之际，它在琴江都上镇社所辖的九个村里；入清后归上镇约。1961年4月起有乐平生产大队，不过1963年3月就撤销了。1987年4月，乐平随撤区建乡镇而设村委会，1989年底转为管理区，1999年4月又恢复村委会。[1]
