地名由来与历史沿革[edit]
博雅地名网记载：这里约有百分之八十以上的人姓黄，起初叫黄埔，客家话中“埔”与“布”读音相近，后来写成了黄布。[1] 人民公社化的1958年，此地并在苏区公社龙上大队之内；1961年下放管理体制，黄布才单独成大队。1983年起称黄布乡，1989年称管理区，1999年改设村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
据1998年前后的记述，黄布与永光一带有高岭土，估计280多万吨；黄布村民当年自办的采矿点120多个，货运往汕头、梅州等地。[2]
荣誉[edit]
黄布村在2024年3月获命名「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
