西平村是紫金县义容镇的行政村，由原大坝、石下两个村在2005年4月合并而成，2024年3月被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

村名取自它位于义容镇西部，含祝愿居民平安幸福之意。[1]1958年这里是义容公社西平大队；1976年分出石下、大坝两个大队，1987年二者合成石下乡，1989年又分为石下、大坝两个管理区，1999年4月改称大坝村委会、石下村委会，2005年4月再合并为西平村委会。[1]

紫金县政府网站的行政区划记述中，西平村是2006年经批准改名的7个村之一。[2]2024年3月，西平村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
