在南村是九和镇的行政村，1952年由在下村与南坑村合并而成，取居于南部之意。[1] 它曾属九树公社和九树镇，2003年8月归入九和镇。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

今在南一带，明代是古名都下黄沙社上下汤村的辖地，清代属汤里社，与热水、南坑、磜下等村相邻或同属一社，民国归下黄砂乡。1952年立在南乡（第五区九和），公社化后属九和公社。1961年九树公社另立，南坑、在下两个大队划入；1963年九树公社并回九和，两队合并为在南大队；1973年九树公社复设，在南大队又归九树。1987年称九树镇在南村，1999年设村委会，2003年8月九树镇撤销，在南村改属九和镇。[2]
