坪围村在埔前镇西部，离圩镇3公里，区域面积13平方公里，有847户3332人，分5个村民小组；2017年11月被中央文明委授予第五届全国文明村镇称号。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村址地势平坦，四面环山，因此叫坪围。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

坪围1952年为乡，1958年成了大队，1983年恢复乡制，1987年改由村委会管理，1990年设管理区，1999年区撤，村委会沿用。[3]

村情[edit]

村里耕地2800亩；到2018年底，其中1400亩已流转出租，村里打算把余下的耕地改作体验式生态观光农业。[2]2016年起村内开展美化亮化，装路灯450余盏，清运垃圾3500余方。[2]
