源南镇是广东省河源市源城区南部的镇，因在原东埔镇之南而得名，1997年3月东埔镇撤销后单设。镇政府驻沿江中路3号。下面有五个行政村（白田、榄坝、风光、墩头、双下）和双下路、明珠两个社区，塔坑与良种场则是不设村的两处村小组，由镇直接管理。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立之初，本地归河源县第一区；1958年成为东埔公社，1983年公社改区，1986年改建东埔镇，1988年划归源城区。1997年3月广东省人民政府批复同意撤销东埔镇，分成源南镇和东埔、源西两个办事处；其后办事处于2003年12月改称街道办事处。[1][4]
镇名取自方位：它是原东埔镇南部的一块，故称源南。[1]
地理环境[edit]
博雅地名网的镇情说明写道，镇域东靠东江，东江、新丰江都流经境内；南边邻埔前镇和高埔岗街道，西边连着桂山自然保护区（省级）与新丰江水库，北边与源西、东埔、上城、新江几个街道交界。该说明所记面积为96.45平方公里，另有已划给江东新区的城东三村居，面积22.15平方公里，不在其内。[2]源城区政府网站2026年的介绍给出97.87平方公里，耕地约0.29万亩。[3]河源市政府网站2010年前后的资料则是118.6平方公里，那时的行政村有七个，比现在多出和平、胜利，社区中还有河紫路社区；这三处今天已不在镇的名单里。[4]
205国道、京九铁路、粤赣高速公路和长深高速公路自北向南穿过，长深高速在墩头村设有市区出入口，在白田村设有城南出入口；迎客大道、滨江大道等城市道路也经过镇域。[2][3]

博雅地名网记，第七次全国人口普查（2021年6月公布）的镇人口为4.52万人，在源城区各街道镇中居第5位。[1]同页的镇情说明另记常住6.2万人，由户籍2.1万人和流动人口4.1万人构成。[2]源城区政府网站2026年4月的介绍为常住约6万人、户籍约2.5万人。[3]2010年前后河源市政府网站的数字是户籍2.6639万人、常住4.1103万人。[4]

据源城区政府网站，镇内形成饮料食品、电子信息、新材料三个产业集群，企业有农夫山泉、华润怡宝、中兴通讯、京东方精电、粤东钢铁、政星塑料等；2025年规模以上工业总产值210.6亿元，村集体收入2043万元。[3]镇内设有中小幼学校17所，包括河源中学、源城实验中学和科贸职业学校。[3]更早的2010年，镇工业总产值3.4亿元，农村居民人均纯收入为七千六百余元。[4]
2022年10月，源南镇列入当年公布的淘宝镇名单。[1]镇和白田村、双下村被认定为广东省典型镇、村（源城区政府网站，2026年）。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
野趣沟位于大桂山旅游大道一侧，毗邻万绿湖，距市区约10公里。百度百科称其面积12000亩，设有暗洞漂流、溯溪、森林山泉浴等项目，2024年起筹划升级为4A级并建森林康养基地；源城区政府网站将野趣沟旅游区列为国家3A级景区，并称其为国家森林康养基地。[5][7][3]
风光村境内的中华恐龙遗迹公园临迎客大道，围绕恐龙蛋、骨骼与脚印化石遗迹建成，处在河源市恐龙化石省级保护区内，规划占地约2平方公里；2004年，因一处出土了10008枚恐龙蛋而获世界吉尼斯纪录。[6][2]此外，镇内另有七寨湖公园和好汉顶等游览处，镇政府在介绍中还提到万绿湖5A级景区，以及农夫山泉的万绿湖工业旅游项目。[3]
古迹方面，双下村有邝妃墓，属区一级（县级）文物保护单位；双下的万年基桥、潭公爷庙和阿婆庙见于博雅地名网的镇情说明，源城区列有双下古村落一处待深度开发的旅游资源。[2][7]
著名人物[edit]
博雅地名网收有两位种植能手：墩头村人何启明（1952年生），1990年带头辟出30亩果园，种荔枝、石峡龙眼和柑橘；双下村人廖耀宪（1954年生），1988年后从种1亩木瓜起步，发展到拥有40亩的综合果园。[1]
