庄田村在河源市区西南角，属源城区源西街道，南濒新丰江，西靠笔架山，村委会设在塘角村77号。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的由来，博雅地名网载有一则传说：宋末明初，邝翠被选为妃子，所在的田地租给百姓耕种，租金供其子女读书、赴京应考，故称“章田”；1950年代初这里办起集体农庄，才改写为“庄田”。[1]

行政建置上，1950年设庄田乡，1958年人民公社成立后为庄田大队，1984年复称庄田乡，1987年设村民委员会，1990年改设管理区，1999年撤销管理区，重新设立庄田村委会，沿用至今。[1]

经济与人口[edit]

村域约2.7平方千米，实际居住约5980人，外来人员3080人，本村户籍2900人；村民靠种菜和打工谋生，人均年可支配收入13800元左右。[1]

2019年9月，村在广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单（2018年度）中榜上有名；2023年4月公布的「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建名单里也有庄田村。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内的河滩头新石器遗址是源城区县级文物保护单位，遗址外缘向东10米内为保护范围，占地3482.55平方米。[1][2]
