下埔村在金厢镇偏北，辖3个自然村，是丘陵地带的农业村，周恩来活动居址所在的黄厝寮在村内。2023年1月被命名为第九批全国民主法治示范村（社区）。[1][2]

面积约5.8平方千米，总人口3108人，距市区约15千米、镇政府约4千米，村集体经济薄弱。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年属山角乡（十四区即乌坎区）；1972年设下埔大队，隶金厢公社；1987年改村委会，1994年称管理区，1999年复称村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月获「2020年广东省卫生村」；2023年1月，经司法部、民政部命名，列入全国民主法治示范村（社区）第九批名单；2024年4月，进入省首批乡村振兴示范村创建名单。[1]

周恩来活动居址[edit]

周恩来1927年10月初在黄厝寮黄秀文家中养病，住了十来天；这所房屋后来被命名为周恩来活动居址，列为文物保护单位。[2]
