十二岗村在金厢镇东面、金碣公路旁，下辖老村、新村和高厝3个自然村，是丘陵地带的农业村。2024年4月入选广东省首批乡村振兴示范村创建名单；陆丰海岸艺术村选址在村内。^[1]^[2]

博雅地名网所载村情为：面积约5.2平方千米，总人口3106人，距陆丰市区23千米、镇政府8千米，只有一条过境公路，集体经济薄弱。陆丰市政府网站则称村域6.5平方千米、人口3364人。^[1]^[2]

1952年属洲岗乡（十四区即乌坎区），1959年为洲岗大队，隶乌坎公社；1972年洲岗大队一分为二，十二岗大队归金厢公社；1983年改乡，1987年改村委会，1994年称管理区，1999年复为村委会。^[1]

2020年12月获「2020年广东省卫生村」；在2023年4月公布的2022年度省乡村治理示范村创建名单上有名；2024年4月，又进入首批省乡村振兴示范村创建名单。^[1]

陆丰市政府网站介绍，海岸艺术村以再设计学院为依托，规划为集文化创意、艺术创作、文旅、民宿等功能的文化旅游综合体。^[2]
