下巷村在金厢镇东部，辖4个自然村，是纯农业的革命老区。原属城美管理区，2000年6月由陆丰市政府批准分出，单设村民委员会。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

2000年6月，下巷、平乐、罗古、巷新4个村民小组从城美管理区析出，成立下巷村民委员会。[1][2]

概况与荣誉[edit]

村民3800多人。由于排灌系统老化，农田曾靠天吃饭，近年村委向在外乡贤募资并得到上级支持，逐步改造水渠。[1]2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
