城南社区是河田镇下辖的社区，位于陆河县城南部，居委会驻地在县城南面而得名。[1] 1988年陆河设县时，它就设立了居委会。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1988年陆河建县，县城设在河田镇，城南社区居委会同时设立，名称一直未变。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

社区东邻高砂村，西接岳溪村，北靠河田镇中心，南连砂坑村。[2] 辖区含东片、西片、九花塘、埔顶、下圩5个自然村，分5个村民小组，划8个网格；户籍1304户6522人，常住10118人，耕地16亩，辖区面积2.4平方千米。[2] 另一份资料记为9个村民小组、2572户、总人口5953多人。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，城南社区名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
