新城社区是河田镇下辖的社区，位于陆河县城中心，陆河县人民政府即在这里，因居委会驻地在新城区而得名。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

新城社区居委会成立于1999年，由河田居委会分出，名称沿用至今。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

社区是县城的政治、经济和文化活动中心，东起朝阳路，西到宝河路，北抵宝华路，南至岁宝路。[2] 一份镇政府资料记辖区约1.2平方千米、8个村民小组、3865户、总人口8777多人，并称这里是汕尾市基层组织建设示范点；[3][1] 另一份资料记辖区0.7平方千米，总建筑面积38万平方米（其中住宅25.2万平方米），4个居民小组、10个网格，户籍3345户9318人，常住11250人。[2]
