河中村是汕尾市海丰县城东镇的行政村，位于黄江中游，因四面有溪河环绕、处于河流之间而名。[1]

概况[edit]

村域约4.5平方公里，东邻可塘镇，村民种水稻、番薯、瓜类和蔬菜。明代已有先民定居，辖河口、中沟、会湖3个自然村，居民有郑、蔡、陈、王等姓，七普常住人口200多人。村内有民国初年传入的中沟天主堂。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

河中原属可塘区，后并入可塘公社圆墩大队；1974年归城东公社，1978年7月由圆墩大队分出河口、中沟、会湖三个自然村，单立河中大队，其后改乡、村委会、管理区，1998年复为村委会。2022年1月，该村被确定为省级乡村治理示范村创建单位（2021年度）。[2]
