台东村是汕尾市海丰县城东镇的东北侧，隔河与汀洲村相望，北靠将军山脉，与公平镇交界，离镇政府约5公里。[1]

村委辖北坑、新村、山园、前厅、巷口、下围、和平、山腰、下寨、渡头10个自然村，分17个村民小组，面积约7.5平方公里。房屋以瓦木结构和平房为主，改革开放后增建砖瓦及混凝土楼房。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

台东乡设于1952年；1958年为海城公社下的台东大队，1967年前后一度叫东风大队，1974年划入城东公社，之后又改乡、村委会、管理区，1998年复为村委会。[2]

文化[edit]

抗日战争时期，前厅村的黎族汉在此组织民兵和抗日民主政府；解放战争时期台冲（即今台东）一带是游击队的情报基地，1949年9月情报总站移驻村后的山园村一带。[3]

经济[edit]

2020年8月，台东村因芒果入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；同年12月获广东省卫生村称号。[2]
