中河社区位于海丰县城东南侧，属附城镇，紧邻城南社区，是城乡结合部。社区由中巷、山高、大堀三个自然村组成，设12个居民小组。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

社区材料载，户籍人口约675户3509人，常住约6366户31832人，党员74名；辖区约2平方千米，耕地约500亩，种水稻约498亩，蔬菜等约50亩。农户年存栏生猪400至500头，外出务工约200人，人均年收入5000元。二环路穿过辖区，先后建起南湖住宅区、富盛小区、恒达鹿境小区和海悦名城等住宅。[1]

文化[edit]

海丰的高田社妈祖宫在中巷村内。社区材料提到的历史人物有革命时期的柯粦，近年有教育和慈善方面的人士张鸿镇。[1]
