岭东村是兴宁市大坪镇的村，1987年从岭河分出，因在岭河以东得名。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

岭东原与岭背河（岭河）同属一个管理区，1987年为方便管理分开，因位于岭河东面而名岭东。[1]

先后经历了：解放前后随岭河为一村；人民公社时期是大坪公社的岭河大队；1983年2月不再设生产大队，改设乡政府；1987年起称村，1989年有管理区办事处；1999年起是岭东村委会。[1]

2019年9月，岭东村入选省「民主法治示范村（社区）」2018年度创建单位。[1]
