佛坳村在兴宁市大坪镇，1986年自屏汉管理区分出，村名取自当地神坛和佛坳水库。[1]
名称与沿革[edit]
当地有一座神坛，坛后有一座叫佛坳的水库。这里原与屏汉同属一个管理区，1986年分开后定名佛坳。[1]
1949至1957年称佛坳乡，1958至1983年为大队，1983至1986年称乡政府，1986年为管理区，1999年起定名为佛坳村委会，沿用至今。[1]
2019年9月，佛坳村入选省「民主法治示范村（社区）」2018年度创建单位。[1]
