暗石村在蕉岭县文福镇西端，原名鉴石。[1]村里种沙田柚和蜜柚。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

村名本为「鉴石」，客家话里「鉴」与「暗」读音相近，叫久了便成了暗石。明崇祯六年（1633年）属丰田乡。1952年设暗石乡；1983年淡定、暗石、三坑子、羌畲四个大队并为逢甲乡，1987年起重设暗石村委会。[1]

村情介绍（未注年份）：15个村民小组，425户、1595人，总面积8.6平方公里，耕地817亩。[1]2019年9月入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
