文福社区是蕉岭县文福镇的镇中心区社区，镇政府所在的一带。[1]社区之名即镇名的由来：明末蕉岭建县时这里称丰田乡，清代改称文基乡（因境内有文基寺），清末又由丘逢甲改为文福乡。[1]

按博雅地名网的地名由来，文福之名出自清末的乡名：先有丰田乡，后有文基乡，最后才是丘逢甲改定的文福乡，乡政府即设在该地。[1]
