关于村名，博雅地名网的说法是：村中有一条小溪，村名由此而来。[1]
建置方面：新中国成立之初为梧溪乡，1958年人民公社化时设梧溪大队，1983年复为乡政府，1989年改称管理区，1999年起为梧溪村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
