华阳镇是广东省梅州市五华县西南部的镇，与紫金县相邻，辖1个社区、13个行政村，镇政府设在南华街1号。[1][2]

全镇面积约148.9平方千米；第七次全国人口普查时人口约3.62万，在全县各镇中居第11位。[1] 当地人旧称此地为下阳，清末归阳坪约管辖。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清末，这一带归阳坪约管辖。1947年3月（民国三十六年）改称阳坪乡；1950年5月起叫华阳乡，归龙村区管；1957年1月区被撤销，华阳乡由县直接领导；到1958年9月，建立了华阳公社。[1]

公社于1983年11月改设为区，1986年11月又改设为镇，延续至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

华阳位于五华县的西南端，邻接紫金县，是五华通往珠江三角洲方向的出口之一。琴江河流经镇内，1996年以来河上先后建起9座桥。[2]

镇概况提到的资源有花岗岩、大理石、泥、沙、竹、木、稀土矿、耐火泥和水晶石（光珠石）。[2]

据镇概况介绍，当地的特色种植包括：大拔岗的高山油茶基地约3000亩，太坪与高塘的冰塘山茶场加起来一千多亩，高塘的黄盏经太坪的马坑到华南一带，有约3000亩青梅种植基地；社径村和华南村的坪田也是水果专业村。[2]

镇概况称，全镇60%以上的村已铺上水泥路。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，华阳镇获命名为「2021年度广东省卫生城镇」；2023年2月，获「2022年度五华县文明村镇」称号；2023年4月，列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范镇」创建单位名单。[1]

行政区划[edit]

镇辖华阳社区和坪南、太坪、高塘、叶新、红洞、小拔、华阳、华南、华新、莲高、大拔、社径、陂坑13个行政村。[3] 镇概况中另有「共8000多户、45000多人」的说法，没有注明年份。[2]
