北斗镇在广东省梅州市丰顺县中西部，榕江北河上游，辖8个行政村，镇域面积91.8平方千米[2]。镇名取自它在汤坑以北的方位，清代这一带称斗牛乡[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

其地在汤坑之北，清代有斗牛乡之称，因此得名北斗[1]。建国之初的1949年10月属汤坑区。1961年1月，北斗划出汤坑，立为公社；其后体制几经调整：1983年为区，1986年冬为乡，1993年定为镇[1]。

地理环境[edit]

镇的东面与汤坑镇相接，西面邻兴宁市水口镇和五华县郭田镇，南面是汤西镇、八乡山镇，北面是丰良镇和建桥镇；镇中心离县城约9公里[2]。境内四面环山，韩山山脉与桐梓洋山脉东西相连，成一道长约20公里的山群；全镇山地13.5万亩，耕地5493亩，林地11万亩，森林覆盖率88%[2]。交通上，国道G206穿镇而过，大丰华高速、梅汕高速两条高速公路，以及广梅汕铁路和梅汕高铁也在镇境内通过[2]。

镇概况给出的2022年数字是：总人口17686人，其中常住5769人[2]。另据第七次全国人口普查，北斗镇人口为5700人，在丰顺县各乡镇中列第16位[1]。

经济[edit]

镇的基础产业是农业，种得最多的是番薯和水稻，另有茶叶和红花茶油两项特色产业[2]。镇里提出以榕江北河源头水、乡道Y128线、红色人文资源和驻镇帮镇扶村工作队为依托推进乡村振兴，目标是建成县城的后花园[2]。桐岽村的茶叶、桐新村的油茶，同在2020年8月列入「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」[3][4]。

名胜古迹[edit]

桐梓洋、猴子岽一带分布着原红十一军的革命遗址群[2]。

荣誉[edit]

北斗镇于2022年1月获得「2021年度广东省卫生城镇」的命名[1]。
