双坑村是广东省梅州市大埔县湖寮镇下辖的行政村，位于湖寮镇西南部。村里有两条坑水流出，故名双坑。清朝首任驻日公使何如璋出生于此。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据村情，宋代祖辈从福建迁来建村。明代为大埔县清远都双坑社双坑村，清代归同仁社；民国称崧坑乡；1949年后设湖寮区双坑乡；1958年10月为湖寮公社双坑生产大队；1983年底改成双坑乡（属湖寮区）；村级建制此后依次是1986年的村委会、1988年的管理区和1998年起的村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

全村分20个村民小组，在册1200户、3229人，总面积13.52平方千米，耕地1187亩（村情页，未注明年份）。种植水稻、蔬菜和蜜柚，村里以省扶贫「双到」资金参股镇电站，分红补充集体收入。页面称上一年农村经济总收入1463万元。[1]

著名人物[edit]

何如璋（1838—1891），字子峨，据百度百科出生于湖寮镇双坑村，是清朝第一任驻日公使，后任福建船政大臣。[2]
