莒村是广东省梅州市大埔县湖寮镇下辖的行政村，位于湖寮镇东北部。村名的由来，据村情是村口有山叫「马山」，好马称「骥」，「莒」与「骥」音近，后来改称莒村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明代这里是大埔县清远都莒村社的莒村；清代归清远都同仁社；民国为同仁区莒村乡；1957年1月为湖寮乡莒村小乡；1958年10月为湖寮公社莒村生产大队；1983年底改成莒村乡（属湖寮区）；村级建制此后依次是1986年的村委会、1988年的管理区和1998年起的村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
全村分28个村民小组，在册960户、2920人，总面积12.54平方千米，耕地1311亩（村情页，未注明年份）。种植水稻、蔬菜、蜜柚和烤烟，页面称上一年农村经济总收入1436万元，并提到实施村道硬底化工程。[1]
荣誉[edit]
莒村在2024年1月被定为2023年度的广东省民主法治示范村（社区），同年4月又进入广东省首批乡村振兴示范村的创建名单。[1]
著名人物[edit]
作家杜埃（1914—1993，原名曹传美）是湖寮莒村田背角人，毕业于中山大学，1936年加入中国共产党，曾任中国作协广东分会副主席等职。[2]
