虹桥社区是梅州市梅江区金山街道辖下的社区。古时北门壕沟上有一座虹桥，1987年梅州设居委会时，取“虹桥头”这个地名的前两字为名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此处1987年起由中区办事处管辖，后随办事处改名而隶金山办事处，2002年4月起隶金山街道办事处。此地原在北城门外，是轿夫、治丧师傅、码头工人等人的居住处，货物以低档为主，梅城因此有“好货不到虹桥头”的俗语。2002年东厢居委会并入，改设虹桥社区居民委员会。[1]
