东厢村是梅州市梅江区金山街道辖下的行政村，在梅州城区东北面。古时城外靠近城墙的地方称“厢”，村在城墙外的东面，所以叫东厢。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代属东厢堡三坑约，堡址即在此，1949年前后叫东厢乡；东厢大队成立于1958年，隶梅县城郊公社，1975年随公社分出而改属梅州镇东郊公社。1983年建乡，1988年起称村委会（1989年一度叫管理区），1998年划归东郊镇；2002年东郊镇与两个办事处撤并，改隶金山街道。[1]
