历史沿革[edit]
据百度百科，功武村在明永乐年间（1403年至1424年）形成聚落，村名取自廖氏先祖所谓“武功文德”。[1]古建筑群一条目则记，廖剩甫与次子在明洪武元年（1368年）建村，至今六百多年；两种说法的年份不同。[2]
新中国成立后，1949年9月功武属二区下沙乡，1951年12月单设二区功武乡；1957年12月并入沙迳乡，仍称功武村；到1958年10月，成了龙华公社下的功武大队，1961年又转入香溪公社。其后1984年3月建乡，1987年1月起为村民委员会，1989年10月称管理区，1999年5月定为现名。[3]2005年12月，沙迳镇并入龙华镇，功武村随之属龙华镇。[4]
地理环境[edit]
村落背靠后龙山，面向增江，百度百科称全村面积9.6平方千米，人口2000余人。[1][2]百度百科还记村下辖十二个片区，如五宅、三光、新屋、鹤湖、潘塘和下车。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
功武村古建筑群包括五宅第、古码头、正街和廖氏宗祠。村子由“山、水、古街”构成：廖氏宗祠在正街东端，是村内最早的祠堂，正街从祠前通向江边古码头，路面铺青砖，两侧是商铺。[2]该建筑群于2002年7月17日由广东省人民政府公布为第四批广东省文物保护单位。[2][3]
五宅第坐落在正街中部南侧，是村中规模最大的一组建筑，占地约9200平方米，坐北向南，以进士第和碉楼为中轴，东西两侧排布民居。[2][3]进士第俗称官厅，共五进，通面阔23.6米、通进深56.3米；二进名“菑畲堂”，三进为祖堂，四进有宜休书室。[3]官厅后的碉楼高4层，约20米，村民称“女楼”或“红楼”，传说姑娘出嫁前要在楼中住满一个月。[3]1938年，官厅两旁小巷口的三栋房屋遭日机轰炸，后经村民修复，官厅头进右侧墙上至今留有裂痕。[3]
廖氏宗祠建于清末，四进院落，面宽19.6米，总进深52.3米，门前有广场、照壁和池塘。[3]正街上另有杏春书室、璞轩书室，以及保存曲尺柜台的“畅记”店铺。[3]三光楼古民居也在村内，建于清代，内有民居、宗祠和玉树园，围门楼上刻“三光楼”围名。[3]
以古村为基础开发的香溪堡旅游区为国家3A级旅游景区，占地约5平方千米，距龙门县城约30公里。[5]
