巺寮滨海旅游度假区（资料多写作巽寮滨海旅游度假区）位于广东省惠州市惠东县，在稔平半岛西南部、大亚湾东岸，统计部门将其列为惠东县的乡镇级单位。[1][3]辖区面积约105平方千米，设有管理委员会，按博雅地名网的记载，管辖4个村民委员会，即巽寮、赤砂、榄涌和渔业。[1][2]度假区是国家4A级旅游景区。[3][4]

据博雅地名网转述的地方资料，公元1447年已有人在狮子山下的巽寮定居，最初称顺寮；聚落遭火灾后迁到狮子山右侧的荒地，并以八卦中的「巽」字取代「顺」字，名称由此定下。[2]百度百科则记有另一说：相传乾隆年间有客家先民来此搭茅寮居住，取八卦之巽，寓意风调雨顺。[3]

进入20世纪90年代后，这里渐受重视。1996年，广东省把它列为粤东的重点旅游点；2000年，惠州市将其划为一级旅游功能区，同时是一级保护区。[2]2002年年初，市里批准设立度假区管理委员会，由它统筹当地旅游资源的保护与规划。[2]到2005年，惠州市请来北京的两家企业，共同开发建设。[2]2006年，市规划建设部门出台《惠州市巽寮滨海旅游度假区规划（2006一2020）》，把发展方向定为以旅游、度假、商贸为主的生态型旅游度假区。[2]

度假区在珠江三角洲东部，濒临大亚湾东岸，博雅地名网将其位置写在稔平半岛正中；百度百科则说在半岛西南角，隔海对着大亚湾经济技术开发区，并记海岸线27千米。[2][3]气候属亚热带，博雅地名网载年平均气温21.7℃。[2]

百度百科记度假区布局为「一轴三区」：以金海滩大道为主干线，分南区、中区、北区，南区侧重高端休闲度假，中区为旅游服务核心区，北区为生态观光区。[3]
