蔗埔村隶属惠州市惠城区横沥镇。据博雅地名网，明末清初，张瑞元（尊称瑞元公）沿东江岸养鸭，从博罗县古仙村溯江而上，来到苏富村一带，当地已有曾、杨、何等姓居民；张瑞元定居后子孙繁衍，其他姓氏陆续迁走。村东斜坡上的一片埔地长期种甘蔗，故名蔗埔。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年时是惠阳县横沥公社的蔗埔大队，其后1984年设蔗埔管理区，随后1998年改称蔗埔村委会，此后2006年划归惠城区。2017年10月，该村获「第一批广东省卫生村」称号；再后2019年9月名列民主法治示范村创建单位名单，同年12月入选「第一批国家森林乡村」名单；继而2020年8月，以柠檬入选「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」；其后2022年1月，被确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；随后2026年1月，获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
