更楼下社区是惠州市惠城区桥西街道下辖的社区，位于市中心的老城区。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
早年辖区里有一座专供打更报时的更楼，社区因此得名。[1]建国初期它编为第二坊办事处的第七联组，1956年定名更楼下居委会。1958年曾降为大队下的中队，次年复原；1961年分出万寿宫居委会，1963年再并回来。1968年起用红旗居民革命委员会之名，其间朝阳居民革命委员会一度并入、1969年11月又分出，到1981年才恢复更楼下居委会。2005年1月，它与后所街居委会合并，名称不变。[1][2]
概况[edit]
居委会简介称辖区共3325户、11463人，主要道路有水门大街、南门路、水门直街、塘尾街、长寿路和环城西二路。[1]
更楼下社区评上了惠州市2022年度绿色社区（2022年9月公布），也是2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位（2019年9月上榜）。[1]
