北门街社区是惠州市惠城区桥西街道下辖的社区，在老城区北部，东邻桥东的东新桥一带，北面毗邻惠州西湖。[2]
地名与沿革[edit]
辖区内多是北门直街和北门大街，社区因此得名。[1]它在建国初期编为第一坊办事处的第六联组（1950年），其后几年依次改称第一办事处第六居委会、北门街居委会；1958年初一度叫解放居民革命委员会，直到1981年8月才恢复原名。[1]2002年，原中山北、都市巷、北门街三个居委会合并为现在的北门街居委会。[2]
概况[edit]
社区面积0.44平方公里，居委会简介称总人口9159人、2711户，辖内设有老人活动中心、老人公寓和老人大学。[2]居委会提到的辖区景点有西湖、中山公园、朝京门、古城墙和文笔塔，另有一条小吃街。[2]
2022年9月，北门街社区被评为惠州市2022年度绿色社区。[1]
