望高村在金装镇西北部，全村405户、2018人，管辖13个村民小组。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

民国以前，锦绣一带共六个大自然村，望高居于其中央；据称此处地势偏高，形如卧虎，虎头朝高处，村名由此而来。[1][2]解放初期隶属长安，编为锦绣第四保；1950年设农民协会，1953年成农业合作社，1959年成生产大队，1984年称乡政府，1987年定为村委会。[3]

经济与社会[edit]

耕地1643亩，林地9850亩，村集体收入0.6万元（博雅地名网未注年份）。[1]百度百科载，村里实施「一村千树」产业项目，集体经营性收入从2021年的11.94万元增至2024年的75万元左右。[4]

名胜古迹与荣誉[edit]

博雅地名网的镇概况页写到，村里留有明清至民国年间的民居二百余栋，并说这是封开县目前发现的同类建筑群中保存最好、范围最大的一处。[5]

2021年，望高村列为「广东省美丽乡村重点县建设项目」的重点建设村；2023年4月，望高村名列「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；同年11月，被认定为「第三批全国乡村治理示范村」。[4][1]
