历史沿革[edit]
村名取自驻地望楼村。[2] 1961年成立人民公社；1983年改区，次年望楼大队改乡；1987年起为村委会。[2]
经济[edit]
望楼是传统农业村，沙糖桔等水果种了两千多亩；村里水力资源丰富，建有两级梯级水电站（望楼一级、二级）。[1][2] 村委会楼下公路两侧有10多家商铺，俗称「望楼铺」，是望楼、扶六等村村民交易农产品的地方。[2] 据百度百科，2024年村里以「公司+农户」方式利用200亩低效地种辣椒，还有200亩南药基地和一处存栏65000对种鸽的肉鸽场，村集体通过商铺出租、林地发包和土地流转年增收18万元。[1]
2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局把望楼村定为2021年度乡村治理示范村创建单位。[2]
